Born on 02 Oct. 1976 at village Bhatol Jattan, Distt. Hisar, Haryana, Vikas Bamel obtained his B. Sc. (Hons) Ag. and M. Sc. Ag. from C.C.S. Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar (Haryana) in the years 1998 and 2001, respectively. His field of specialization is Nematology. As a part of M. Sc. Ag., he worked on “Studies on effect of different fertilizer sources on root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita) infecting okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) and mungbean (Vigna radiata)”. He was awarded Merit scholarship during his graduate and post – graduate studies. |

He was selected for Agricultural Research Service in the year 2003 and joined I.C.A.R. on 16 April, 2003 as Research Scientist. He has been working as Scientist (Nematology) at N.R.C.for Citrus, Nagpur since 25 August, 2003.
At present he is working on nematode problems in Citrus and their Management. His area of work includes Survey, Biological control of Citrus nematode, INM in Citrus and Evaluation of various rootstocks for resistance against Citrus nematode.
Vikas Bamel has published 3 research papers in reputed journals, 1 review article, and 1 popular article. He is a life member of Indian Society of Citriculture, Nagpur and Nematological Society of India, New Delhi.
